
Additional Therapies
In addition to your treatment, you may also receive some of these additional techniques which can be used on their own or to enhance the effect of acupuncture:
Moxa
An herb which is rolled into cones or sticks and used on the skin to stimulate acupuncture points by heat.

Cupping

Sterilised glass or plastic suction cups which are moved over the skin to stimulate blood flow and is useful to help with pain and respiratory disorders.

Gua Sha
Small seeds, magnets or tourmaline balls are attached with tape and retained for a number of days to reinforce treatment or to have an effect on a specific area of the body or mind, particularly good for anxiety or addition.
Auricular Acupuncture
Special ‘spoon’ shaped tools which are used on oiled skin over acupuncture points and meridians. This can help with stiffness, muscle pain and reduced circulation. Often used on the face as a relaxing treatment.
